Adult Learn-to-Play Ultimate Event

On Saturday, May 12 CURDS is hosting the first of two Learn-to-Play Ultimate events.  If you've never played or played just a little in gym class a few years ago, this is the event for you!  If you have friends who can answer "yes" to these questions, then this is the event for them!

Who: Anyone aged 15 or older who has never participated in a CURDS league.
What: Learn the basics of throwing and game play, and then try out your new skills in a casual game.
When: Saturday, May 12, 3-5 pm
What to bring: soccer cleats or athletic shoes, white and dark shirts, water, friends
Why: Because ultimate is a fun, fast-paced, spirited, and social sport that you'll love to play!

And just in case the excitement of playing ultimate isn't enough, we'll be raffling off discs, jerseys, and a free entry into Summer League throughout the event!

Send your questions to couleeultimate@gmail.com.  We hope to see you there!

Tuesday Pick-up

Thanks to everyone who came out to skills clinics the past five weeks.  We hope they were informative and fun.  Constructive criticism is always welcome, and requests for mini-skills clinics focusing on specific aspects will be entertained.  Just send us an email!

Our regularly scheduled clinics have thus ended, and starting this Tuesday, we'll have pick-up at 6:30 pm every Tuesday at Veterans Freedom until the end of the summer league season.  As usual, this is free to all who are registered for summer league, and $2 for anyone else.

Our theme this week is Vertical Stack Offense, and the clinic will be lead by Rachel Rockwell, Youth Program Coordinator, and Sarah Garstecki, Captain of UW-L Galaxy. They'll go over how to set up in a vertical stack, the best way to cut using the space, and how to clear out to give your teammates better cutting options.

As usual, the clinic starts at 6:30 pm and is followed by pick-up at 7:15 pm. All are welcome to join in either or both events, but those not registered for summer league will need to pay $2.

Please bring your white and non-grey dark shirts to make dividing teams easier.

Skills Clinic: Resets

Join us tonight (June 23) for our fourth skills clinic of the season!

Our theme this week is Resets: dumps, strikes, and swings, and the clinic will be lead by Sierra Colavito and Brett Townsend, our east coast ultimate gurus. They'll go over some efficient ways of getting rid of the disc when you're not confident with your upfield throws, resetting the disc on a high stall count, and passing the disc across the field so as to create more cutting options.

As usual, the clinic starts at 6:30 pm and is followed by pick-up at 7:15 pm. All are welcome to join in either or both events, but those not registered for summer league will need to pay $2.

Please bring your white and non-grey dark shirts to make dividing teams easier.
