The second half of 2018 Summer League unfortunately ended without a championship game, thanks to thunderstorms and football taking away an opportunity to reschedule. We made the best of it, however, and celebrated ultimate, friends, and spirit at
Turtle Stack, our wonderful sponsors for the league.
This year was the first year we have had spirit prizes handed out for good spirit! Each captain chose a male and female spirit award winner, who took home a pint glass, an armband, and a sticker!
Congratulations to Pete, Violette, Anna, Patrick, Hope, Drew, Sally, and Chris V. for showing your good spirit!
In true ultimate fashion, the game results of our Championship and Consolation games were decided by RoShamBo (Rock, Paper, Scissors). Prothonatary Warblers continued their undefeated streak by defeating the Pileated Woodpeckers in a rousing sweep in a best of five to win the league. The Loons came from behind to sneak past the Herons to take third place.
