Start Planning for Summer Tournaments

It's time to start thinking about playing in summer Ultimate tournaments!

Here are the local playing opportunities that CURDS is organizing:

  • 21-22 June - Wisconsin Swiss (mixed only) - Madison, WI - bid secured
  • 28-29 June - MS Open (mixed & open divisions) - Austin, MN - open bid secured; can switch to or add mixed bid depending on response
  • 19-20 July - MUDI (mixed & open divisions) - Twin Cities - open bid applied for; can switch to or add mixed bid depending on response
  • 2-3 August - Mad-Disc-On (mixed only) - Madison, WI - bid window not yet open
  • 16-17 August - Cooler Classic (mixed & open divisions) - Delafield, WI - mixed bid secured; can switch to or add open bid depending on response

Here is what we need from you: check your calendars, and if you want to go to a particular tournament(s), email couleeultimate at gmail dot com.

If we attend these tournaments at all and whether we send mixed, open, or both teams will be dependent upon YOU.  As such, please do email us.  Commitments are better than fence-sitting, and the sooner we know who is doing what, the sooner we can secure bids.

The first two tournaments, WiscoSwiss and MS Open, are of paramount importance as they are quickly coming up.  Tell us you are "in" for these tournaments!

As some of you are aware, we are working on creating something resembling practice or POD workouts or mini or other instructional sorts of events so that we may improve our skills, especially those of us who have an interest in competing against other cities.  You may attend tournaments without going to a single practice/workout, and you may go to any and all practices/workouts without committing to any tournaments.  Basically, we want to begin to get our Ulty community acclimated to what a travelling team season looks like without forcing you to commit to a travelling team.

Sign up for the google group email for more announcements concerning tournaments and practices.  For now, check your calendar, clear it, and then tell us you are in for five tournaments this summer!
